Joe Rogan immediately hired a podcast producer after one thing he said during their very first meeting.
Rogan launched the 'Joe Rogan Experience' at the beginning of 2009, initially co-hosting it alongside Brian Redban, who was also the producer.
In 2012, he hired Jamie Vernon to co-produce, with Vernon eventually taking over the production of the podcast entirely.

'Young Jamie', as he is known, also streams on Twitch and has over 20,000 followers on the platform.
He is also a photographer and a keen golfer in his spare time.
Vernon is still involved with the podcast today, and Rogan revealed in 2023 why he had to hire him in the first place - with it all boiling down to something he said during the pair's very first meeting.
The UFC commentator explained: "I met Jamie at a comedy club. Jamie came to a show at the Ice House.

"He said that we have problems with our sound. I said, 'What would you do to fix it?' He said, 'I can take a look at it'."
Crucially, Vernon is also an engineer, and managed to fix the sound problems to allow the show to continue.
"I tend to follow instincts, even if people say don't do that," he continued. "With him, I was like, I'm gonna hire that dude. I didn't know s**t about him. He could have been a f***ing serial killer. He could have been a f***ing con artist."

On one episode of the podcast, Rogan claimed that Vernon 'can't get high off edibles', adding that he can eat 1000mg. The average person will reportedly feel the effects of edible marijuana after taking anything between 2.5-20mg.
Vernon said: "To say I didn't feel a thing off of that, that's a stretch. But I didn't feel the way it's supposed to feel."
"That's f***ed up," Rogan replied.
