Paddy Pimblett will wear custom-designed fight gear for his much-anticipated lightweight bout against Michael Chandler at UFC 314 – and fans are reacting to his "OG" look on social media.
The 30-year-old, who is currently 12th in the UFC lightweight rankings following last year's win over King Green, can move into the top 10 with victory against Chandler, who is looking to bounce back from two straight losses.
It is arguably the toughest test of Pimblett's MMA career to date. He is currently 6-0 in the UFC after putting away Luigi Vendramini, Kazula Vargas, Jordan Leavitt, Jared Gordon, Tony Ferguson and King Green.

And ahead of Saturday night's contest in Miami, the Liverpudlian is confident about his chances. "Ready for five rounds even though this fight isn’t going the distance," he wrote in a recent Instagram post. "I really am in the shape of my life. Chandler ain’t ready people believe that."
Pimblett also uploaded a short clip from his pre-fight promotional video, which shows him wearing the now-iconic bright orange trunks that are inspired by UFC legend Kazushi Sakuraba. "Back in the orange shorts in Miami on Saturday night," he captioned the post.
Here's how fans on social media reacted to the clip.

One said: "OG Orange Shorts," while another commented: "Classic Paddy CW days. Man means business, hoping to see another flying triangle, making a statement, on the road to cracking the top 5 and that title shot."
A third wrote: "Those are eye-catching shorts."
A fourth said: "Orange shorts Paddy = First round Paddy," and a fifth added: "The way he handles his body weight is incredible."
After making orange shorts his signature style during a successful stint as Cage Warriors champion, uniform rules in the UFC meant that he was unable to continue that trend until recently, when his request to wear orange against King Green was granted.

The UFC marked that occasion with a post on their website.
It read: "At UFC 304, Paddy Pimblett wore bright orange shorts to pay homage to his early MMA career in Cage Warriors. This tribute not only honors Pimblett’s early beginnings, but also serves as his signature look alongside his cornrows and electric walkout."
Speaking ahead of his fight in Manchester last year, Pimblett said the company should let more fighters pick their own short colours.

“It’s not difficult to make a pair of orange shorts," he told LowKickMMA. "I think they should let more fighters pick their own colours. I always had to pick red because I could only pick between red, white, and black. But this fight, obviously where Bobby is ranked, he got asked first and he picked red so I could only pick between white and black.
"I’ve always wanted my orange shorts anyway, but that was another reason why I wanted the orange shorts because I don’t want to wear white or black.”
