Journalist says he hasn't been on Joe Rogan podcast because of ugly 'spat' in comedy club green room

Rogan had a 'spat' with the journalist in the green room of his Mothership Comedy Club, it is claimed.

A high-profile journalist has claimed that he has never been on Joe Rogan's podcast due to an ugly 'spat' at a comedy club.

Rogan's podcast, 'The Joe Rogan Experience', was set up in 2009 and is one of the most popular podcasts in the world.

Among his most high-profile guests include Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, Mike Tyson and current US President Donald Trump.

Elon Musk's first appearance on the podcast in 2018, meanwhile, is his most-viewed episode ever at over 69 million views (as of April 2025).

But one high-profile name may not ever appear on the podcast, it is claimed.

Andrew Callaghan, who has over 700,000 followers on Instagram, claims that has never been on the show because of one incident involving Rogan.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Channel 5, Callaghan explained: "I was in Austin, doing a couple of different podcasts. That night after the podcast, Shane [of Matt and Shane's Secret Podcast] had a set at the Mothership Comedy Club.

"He invited me, and between sets, I'm chilling at the bar downstairs and i'm getting lightweight blown up by fans. Which is fine. I love fans. It was chill. But I was in a more relaxed headspace, I wanted to just doze off and listen to comedy.

"So I asked Lamaire [Lee, comedian that he was with], 'Can I go upstairs to the green room, I'm trying to kick back and lay low for a bit'.

"He said, "I can take you there. But just so you know, Joe Rogan's a bit territorial about that green room. So it's at your own risk'.

"I'm like, 'Dude, no way. It's gonna be fine. Joe Rogan's reacted to like seven of my videos'.

"There's five comedians in there, all in their mid-20s. Everybody recognises me except Joe Rogan.

"I shake Joe Rogan's hand and put some popcorn in the microwave - I felt like I was establishing myself as a member of the green room.

"I turn around, and I hear Joe Rogan yelling at the security guard. And he's yelling, 'Who let this f***ing journalist in here? Kick him the f**k out!'

"I guess somebody told him I was a journalist, so he maybe thought I was a reporter that he snuck his way into his safe space.

"Before I could even get kicked out, I said, 'Lamaire, I've gotta get out of here'."
