UFC fans were left shocked after seeing what Paddy Pimblett's hands look like ahead of his superfight with Michael Chandler.
Nearly four years after making his UFC debut, fan-favourite fighter Pimblett will step into the octagon for perhaps the biggest fight of his career in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The Liverpudlian will face popular star Chandler at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, with the two men already meeting several times while carrying out media responsibilities ahead of Sunday's fight.
But after one of the pair's most recent meetings, UFC fans have immediately spoken out after noticing something about Pimblett's hands.
Going into the fight, it is widely accepted that Chandler will have the advantage as long as the fight remains on the feet, with the former title challenger boasting 11 knockout wins in his career, with eight coming in the first round.
However, in a recent interview with UFC Europe, Pimblett claimed that he believes he is the better fighter in all areas, while the two men, somewhat strangely, compared the size of their hands.
But, while fans admired Pimblett's confidence, many pointed out the strange bruises and marks on the 30-year-old's knuckles, making them appear completely grey.
Reacting to a clip of the interview online, one fan wrote: "Paddy's knuckles lol wtf that comes from hitting the heavy bag for years without wraps or gloves."
While a worried fan added: "Paddy showing he has a slight injury."
One joked: "Holy smokes! Did he implant adamantium in his knuckles?"
While another explained that this is completely normal, writing: "These guys punch people in the head for a living. Of course their knuckles are gonna look like that. They want their knuckles to be thick and durable. Crazy sport."
In the clip, Chandler raises his fists to the camera as his opponent explains how he's going to win the fight, replying: “Look at the size of these paws.”
Not even flinching, Pimblett hands, before and firing back on social media, posting the clip alongside a caption that read: “The size of them hands aren’t going to help you next week, brother.”
