Former two-weight UFC champion Conor McGregor posted a restaurant bill to his story – and the amount was staggering.
McGregor, 36, is a former two-weight UFC champion but has transcended the sport and is one of the most talked about sportspeople on the planet.
In 2021, he topped Forbes’ list of richest athletes mainly thanks to his successful whiskey business Proper Twelve.

The Irishman is also involved in multiple other ventures such as August McGregor, and bare-knuckle fight promotion Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC).
In 2024, McGregor revealed that he was closing in on “a billion” when speaking to UFC journalist Megan Olivi.
"I'm closing in on a billion now, I think I'm at about $650million all in I've made,” said McGregor in January 2024.

He then explained how Michael Jordan’s vast wealth is motivating to him.
"It's motivating, Michael Jordan's at the top spot, obviously with the Jordan brand that took him there, he's worth multiple billions," McGregor added.
"I think it's $3.3billion he's made. I'm closing in on a billion, I think I'm at about $650m all in that I've made.
"I think they estimate that, I'd probably have to do my own little check of that, but I fancy my chances of getting up that list.

“It was good to see, that Forbes [richest athletes of the year list] was a goal of mine to hit that, I got that and onwards we go."
And given the sums at his disposal, McGregor is not afraid to splash the cash and is often pictured wearing expensive watches while sat on high-class yatchs in lavish and exotic locations.

But what else does McGregor spend his money on?

Well, on Tuesday, he gave an insight into his life by posting a photograph of what appeared to be a restaurant bill to his Instagram page, which sports 46.7m followers.
The total on the receipt was 139,700 - although the bill does state a 45% discount worth 117,090 was deducted from the original price. Plus, the VAT alone was 6,272.25.
So, this means the gross amount before deductions was 256,790. To put this into context the average wage in the UK is £36,972 as reported by Forbes, just 32% of McGregor's bill.
