Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has been accused of causing $50million (£40million) worth of costs while filming a Hollywood blockbuster.
Having gained international attention among the stars of the WWE, The Rock has gone on to nurture a reputation as one of the most hard-working and well-remunerated stars in Hollywood.
The star has featured in the Fast and Furious franchise, Jumanji and Baywatch in recent years, with his next project, Red One, set to be released in November 2024.

Originally slated for release during the 2023 Christmas season, the film was delayed by almost a year, with the official reason cited as last year’s labor strikes.
However, The Wrap has claimed that the real story is much more complicated. Citing ‘insiders’, the publication alleged that The Rock arrived up to eight hours late to set while making the movie, which essentially forced the crew to shoot around his schedule.
The publication further claimed that this led to the Rock causing the studio costs of £40million.

However, a statement provided to the Wrap by an Amazon MGM spokesperson denied there were any problems with Red One and insisted no delays were caused by The Rock’s tardiness.
“Dwayne Johnson and Seven Bucks have been incredible partners on Red One - a film that audiences of all ages are going to love this holiday season,” the spokesperson said.
“Our testing has been very strong - the reaction from CinemaCon speaks for itself - and we couldn’t have made it without Dwayne’s constant work and support.

"Any reporting that implies that we got to this point with him showing up seven/eight hours late to set is both ridiculous and false.”
LADbible Group has contacted The Rock’s representatives for comment.
Elsewhere, John Cena recently shed light on The Rock and Vin Diesel’s alleged feud while filming Fast and Furious.
According to various reports and online speculation, the co-stars have been 'feuding' since around 2016.

Cena acknowledged there are “certainly rumours” about tension between Johnson and Diesel, which he admitted he “can't deny”.
He continued: "You have two very alpha, driven people. You get two, there can only be one."
