Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson claims Taylor Swift forced him to do something he 'hates' for the first time in his career

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson claims Taylor Swift forced him to do something he 'hates' for the first time in his career

Johnson revealed all in a new interview.

Hollywood star and WWE legend Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has revealed that Taylor Swift indirectly forced him to do something he 'hates' for the first time ever.

The Rock has had a busy 2024, starting with an unexpected lengthy run back with the WWE before WrestleMania 40.

He was involved in the Undisputed World Championship programme involving Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns.

The 52-year-old even stepped foot inside the ring for his first match in eight years at 'The Show of Shows', a tag match alongside Reigns versus Rhodes and Seth Rollins.

The Rock then appeared on the Raw after WrestleMania to confront new champion Rhodes, and hinted at coming back to face him after concluding his latest Hollywood stint.

Johnson has since worked on several projects that will release either this year or next, including his new Christmas film 'Red One'.

In the meantime, Taylor Swift has been completing the final stages of her mammoth Eras tour, which began in March 2023 and is ending in December.

While Johnson did not attend any of the tour dates himself, he found himself being asked by a friend whether he could buy a ticket at short notice.

That led to the WWE legend doing something he says he has never done before at short notice.

He told Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of 'Moana 2' - which he also stars in - last week: "Taylor Swift. The only one. It's never happened in my career.

"Usually, I don't have to pull strings. I just make it happen.

"In this case, it was for a good friend of mine who was like, 'Please. Taylor. Last concert'.

"I'm never good at asking for that kind of stuff. I'm good at giving it. Hate asking for stuff. I don't do it.

"But in this case, I made a little call, Taylor made it happen. Tickets... happy. I got the picture of the happy ladies who were there. I appreciate that about Taylor."

There is as yet no confirmation of when The Rock will return to WWE, meanwhile.

He is featured on the promotional material for WWE's debut on Netflix on January 6, although it is unclear whether he will appear on the first Raw show on the network in what would potentially see the resumption of his feud with Cody Rhodes.
