Liverpool fans may be hoping to see their club make a few more signings this summer, but any further incomings are unlikely to materialise.
That’s according to Italian Journalist Fabrizio Romano who was speaking to Caught Offside.
The transfer guru revealed “new signings don’t currently look like an urgent priority” for the Reds.

He continued that there’s an “enormous satisfaction” within the club following the signings of Darwin Nuñez, Calvin Ramsay, and Fabio Carvalho in addition to Mo Salah’s contract renewal.
Romano considers Salah’s new record-breaking contract “the most important thing the club have done all summer.”

Indeed, Liverpool’s business so far this window can be considered successful, but some Kopites might be disappointed to hear that no more signings are likely.
The Reds have a plethora of quality options both in attack and at the back, but in midfield there are concerns.
A lack of depth isn’t the issue, but perhaps a lack of quality, especially if injuries were to occur.
The likes of Thiago Alcantara, Jordan Henderson, and James Milner are ageing and no longer what they used to be.

Naby Keita, Curtis Jones, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are useful squad options, but have never been able to establish themselves as consistent starters.
Fabinho and Thiago are nailed on starters for the moment, but some Liverpool fans would’ve liked to see the club pursue a new star midfield to complete that midfield three.
A move to Liverpool for Jude Bellingham is growing increasingly likely, but if he were to join the Reds, he wouldn’t arrive until summer 2023.
As such, off the back of Fabrizio Romano’s claims, Liverpool fans should perhaps be worried about their team’s engine room heading into the new season.

That said, the Jürgen Klopp does still have a very talented squad on his hands, and Liverpool will doubtless be competing with Manchester City at the top of the Premier League this season.
Signing a new midfielder may have increased their chances of success, but the Reds will be backing themselves to perform regardless.
