After beating Mohamed Salah to the ‘African player of the year’ award earlier this week, Sadio Mane revealed he is still in contact with the Egyptian and that there is no rivalry between the pair.
The Senegalese captain left Liverpool for Bayern Munich this summer, and broke up the highly successful duo with Salah in the process.
Mane scored 90 goals in 196 games during his time on Merseyside, and won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and EFL Cup.

Speaking to Goal, Mane had this to say:
“People sometimes say there’s a rivalry between me and [Salah], but you know I don’t see myself having a rivalry with any player to be honest.”
“We have good relations, we text each other. I think the media always try to [aggravate] things.”
“You know I don’t just have [relationships] with one player, but with every player I’ve played with in the world.”

“You can ask whoever you want in the club, or wherever I go."
"I have good relationships with all players.”
The quotes come amid rumours that Mane and Salah were not the closest during their time together at Anfield.
Mane was seen berating Salah for not passing him the ball during a game away at Burnley in 2019, but Mane disputes any claims of a rivalry between the two.
