Mohamed Salah is being tipped for a shock move to Bayern Munich as uncertainty over his Liverpool future continues, but he could face an awkward reunion with Vincent Kompany if he does make the move to Germany.
Like Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, Salah is out of contract at the end of the season and Liverpool are yet to offer the 32-year-old a new deal.
Speaking after Liverpool's recent win over Southampton, Salah said he was "probably more out than in" and admitted he was "disappointed" that a contract offer had not yet been made after another impressive start to the season.

The Egypt international has already scored 13 goals in all competitions to help Liverpool to the top of both the Premier League and Champions League tables.
The Athletic report that Salah would be willing to accept a one-year extension to his Liverpool contract, thought to be well in excess of £350,000 per week, and that the forward's priority is to extend his stay.
But he is also said to be frustrated by the lack of progress in contract negotiations. That has led to speculation over his future and a potential move away either in January, when he will be free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs, or in the summer.

PSG have been strongly linked with the Egyptian, while a move to the Saudi Pro League remains a possibility. Liverpool previously rejected a £150m offer for Salah from Saudi club Al Ittihad in September.
Meanwhile, ex-Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann has tipped Salah to potentially join another of his former clubs, Bayern Munich, should Liverpool fail to offer him a new contract.
"It's bizarre if the club hasn't spoken to him, but I do think he will be offered a new two-year contract. He will want a four-year deal but things can change so quickly when you are in your 30s," Hamann told Genting Casino.
"If Liverpool don't offer him a contract, I wouldn't be surprised to see Mohamed Salah end up at Bayern Munich," he added.

"At the moment, they've got wingers who haven't really set the world alight on the pitch. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to bring him in. They won't be the only club either, he wants to play at the highest level and if that's not with Liverpool it will be at another huge club.
"Liverpool have always done their business differently to other teams. Mohamed Salah has been their best player for eight years, he still averages 25 goals, but he is 32 now."
Should Salah move to Bayern, he would join up with a former Premier League opponent in ex-Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany, who is now head coach at the Bundesliga club.

Salah and Kompany came up against each other on numerous occasions during the Belgian's time in English football, with Liverpool and City going head-to-head for titles in several seasons.
In a Premier League meeting the two sides at the Etihad in 2019, Kompany was booked for a strong challenge on Salah and appeared to mouth the word "p***y" at the Liverpool man after receiving his yellow card.
Former Premier League referee Mark Clattenburg said at the time that Kompany was "lucky" to have avoided a red card for the challenge but the former Belgium international disagreed.
"I thought it was a great challenge. Was it not? All right," Kompany told Sky Sports in his post-match interview.

"On the pitch I felt I got the ball, a bit of the man, but it wasn’t naughty. I didn't try to injure him, that's for sure."
