De Jong played in Barcelona's 3-2 win over A-League All-Stars earlier this week and made his way around the Accor Stadium to clap the fans.
One decided to remind the 25-year-old of United's interest and shouted: "Ten Hag is waiting for you!"
De Jong continued to clap and appeared to give a little smile as he made his way out of frame.

United fans quickly reacted to the clip and they're hoping to get a deal over the line sooner rather than later.
One commented: "He realised what they were saying for sure lmao."
A second said: "Our fanbase is so shameless and I love it."
Someone tweeted: "Someone flew across the world to say this, wild."

While another put: "This guy is a hero if the transfer ends up happening."
United are expected to lose Paul Pogba this summer in addition to Nemanja Matic, who has already confirmed his departure.
De Jong is ten Hag's top target, but the Red Devils' lack of Champions League football will make a move difficult.

Barcelona boss Xavi is also reluctant to let the Netherlands international go.
"I have said many times that Frenkie is very important. He's a key player," Xavi stressed in a press conference earlier this month.
"Then there is also the financial situation of the club and it has to be decided. I'm not talking about Frenkie, in general."
Barcelona are expected to sign Franck Kessie as a free agent to bolster their midfield options.

He said: "It has been a disappointing season for us.
"We couldn’t achieve the goals we set at the beginning. But I want to thank the fans for their support this year. We will work hard to do better next season. Proud to be a cule."
