The 2022 World Cup commences in Qatar in November - but who will England be playing against, and when do their fixtures take place?
Gareth Southgate's side qualified for the World Cup directly via the UEFA qualification stage. They won eight of their 10 qualifying matches, scoring 39 goals in the process. They did, however, drop points through 1-1 draws against Poland and Hungary.
Nonetheless, the Three Lions still ensured they were one of the top seeds for the draw, which took place in June. But who will England go on to face?
England World Cup 2022 fixtures: Who will the Three Lions play?
England were placed into Group B for the 2022 World Cup. They will take on Iran, United States and Wales in the group stage of the competition.
The Three Lions last faced the USA at a World Cup in 2010, a 1-1 draw in the group stages. Southgate's side, meanwhile, have never faced Iran in any recorded match.

They have a proud history, in contrast, against Wales, having won 68 of the 103 matches played between the sides (as per 11vs11).
Most of these games were contested, however, in the now-defunct British Home Championship, and England and Wales have never faced each other in a World Cup match.
England World Cup 2022 fixtures: When are the Three Lions in action?
As with every World Cup tournament, England will play each of their group stage opponents once. They kick off their campaign against Iran on November 21, before taking on United States and Wales on November 25 and November 29 respectively. That means a gap of four days between each of the three fixtures.
