Joe Rogan had bizarre job you'd never expect before becoming a successful comedian and podcast host

‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ is one of the biggest podcasts in the world.

Joe Rogan had a bizarre job before he made his name as a comedian and podcast host.

The Joe Rogan Experience is one of the biggest podcasts in the world, the likes of Donaldo Trump, Francis Ngannou, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Elon Musk and Snoop Dogg have all appeared on the show.

It has on average, above 11 million listens per episode after Rogan signed a lucrative deal with Spotify back in 2020 which is reportedly worth $100 million.

However, before making a name for himself, Rogan worked for a private investigator as an assistant.

Speaking during a previous episode, Rogan revealed: "I told you about this guy, my friend Dave Dolan, who was my boss, he's a private investigator when I was a kid, I got a gig driving him around, he needed an assistant.

"Reall he got a DUI and they took his license away and he needed a driver. He was the funniest guy I've ever met."

He added: "He loved busting people, mostly people who were cheating on their insurance." You can watch the footage below.

Although his show is one of the biggest and most popular in the world, Rogan is set to face competition from British journalist Piers Morgan, who is set to leave News UK to have his own show aired on YouTube.

The 59-year-old reportedly $62 million (£50 million) offer from News UK owner Rupert Murdoch to maintain outright control of his show 'Piers Morgan Uncensored' but will now go alone.

Morgan said: "It may be that Uncensored ends up a debate-led channel and I launch a podcast in the not-too-distant future for long-form interviews which is competing with someone like Joe Rogan. There are a lot of lucrative pathways for that.

"I wasn’t prepared to be a talent for hire anymore, I wanted ownership. I’m 60 in March and I want to run my own business. I’ve got the firepower and the social media numbers. I’ve got nothing to lose."
