Michael Jordan names one player he regarded as the best point guard in NBA history over Steph Curry

Michael Jordan names one player he regarded as the best point guard in NBA history over Steph Curry

Any guesses as to who?

Michael Jordan has named who he believes in the great point guard in NBA history.

Jordan, 61, played 15 seasons in the NBA between 1984 and 2003, winning six championships with the Chicago Bulls.

Having retired over 20 years ago, many greats have since tried to topple Jordan's accomplishments.

Steph Curry is often a name that crops up in conversation having himself scooped to win four NBA titles.

But Jordan has caused further controversy insisted the Golden State Warriors star is not the best to ever do it.

“Although greatest of anything is always a debate, I beg to differ on greatest point guard of all-time," began Jordan when speaking to Stephen A. Smith.

"Magic Johnson is easily the best point guard of all time. Steph Curry is very close, but not in front of Magic."

Magic spent his entire professional NBA career with the Los Angeles Lakers.

He won five titles and was named NBA Most Valuable Player on three occasions in 1987, 1989, 1990.

Curry, who has also drawn plaudits for remaining with one team through his time at the top, still believes he belongs at the top.

"Are you the best point guard ever?" Gilbert Arenas asked Curry back in 2023.

"Yes," responded Curry despite hesitating in his response.

"It's me and Magic, is that the conversation?" Curry said.

"Obviously I have to answer [myself]

"But to your point, Magic's resume is ridiculous.

"So the fact that we're even having that conversation is a place that I never thought I'd be in."

Curry's influence on the game has led to frequent comparisons to Jordan .

For basketball fans everywhere, watching them play together would be the stuff of dreams.

At 36, it remains to be seen how long Curry continues to perform at the top level, given Magic retired aged 32, before returning aged 36.
