Luke Littler's three-word message to his mum revealed after landing £35k windfall in latest PDC World Darts win

Luke Littler is making a name for himself at the PDC World Darts Championship

16-year-old Darts wonderkid Luke Littler had a three-word message to his mum after landing £35,000.

The 2024 PDC Darts World Championship has provided the perfect platform for Littler to announce himself to the world.

On Wednesday night, Littler secured his place in the last 16 after dispatching Canada’s Matt Campbell, winning by four sets to one.

With that victory, the teenager from Warrington landed a prize money of £35,000.

After the win, the emotional Littler celebrated with his mum, before being interviewed.

Littler said: “I started crying when I saw my mum in the crowd. She was nervous. I said to her, ‘The dream continues’.

“She said the same thing.”

He added: “I will stay in the hotel, chill out tomorrow, treat myself to more shoes and pants, chill out and see who I play in the next round.

“It’s an overall good performance, it’s not like the first round. I’ve said I could win with the lowest average of the tournament, I’m just happy to get through.”

When asked about his next opponent, Littler said: “My game is there [to win it] but I can settle even more, Jim or Raymond next, I’m just happy.

“If Raymond does beat Jim it would be unbelievable to play him and then win or lose against either of them I’m still happy to come out of the Worlds at the last 16, but I would love to go a few more games in.”

Raymond Van Barneveld said: “There's a 16-year-old kid who is playing awesome darts and when I watch darts I want to watch a guy like him. I like fast, fluent and finishing. His celebrations are something and he's a character.

“He's the World Youth Champion so I have great respect and doing it on the big stage; he didn't give Christian Kist a chance and then UK Open champion Andrew Gilding, so all the respect.”
