An MLB game between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Miami Marlins devolved into chaos courtesy of some cheap hot dogs.
Phillies fans found other ways to entertain themselves during their side’s 8-4 loss to the Marlins on Tuesday (April 11).
It signalled yet another loss in their horrid start to the 2023 season despite taking home their first pennant since 2009 last year.

And while the team is already popular, they may have got a few more fans into the gates after the team announced their dollar-dog promotion.
Footage emerged ahead of the game of queues upon queues of people lining up to get their cheap dogs.
And lo and behold, the promotion sparked chaos.

Ever heard of the saying: Too much of a good thing?
Well, that certainly seemed the case with these Phillies fans having other ideas for their abundance of frankfurts.
The footage was later shared online of hoards of spectators launching the hotdogs at each other while in the stands.
During the video, one fan can be enthusiastically heard yelling ‘food fight’ as the meat goes flying through the air.

Other angles showed dogs flying everywhere.
And while the initiative might’ve been great in theory, it copped a bit of criticism online.
One fan wrote: “You’ll miss the whole game waiting in line for food at CBP. Eat before.”

Another said: “Pay $80 to go get $1 hotdogs. Lol.”
A third added: “Not worth it … miss 2-3 innings for a barely cooked hot dog. Tonight is the night to grab shake shack when the line is reasonable.”
The scenes that played out in the stands reminded many of the famous scenes from The Simpsons where hoards of pretzels were thrown toward Mr Burns.

“Heeere come the pretzels.”
Or in this cause, heeere come the hot dogs.
