Baseball spectators at Dodger Stadium witnessed a proposal go horribly, horribly wrong.
A fan thought it'd be a bright idea to hop over the centre-field fence and run onto the field where he'd then get on one knee and propose to his girlfriend in the stands.
Unfortunately, yet rather unsurprisingly, it backfired massively and he ended up getting spear-tackled by arena security.

Footage of the incident is wild.
During the Los Angeles Dodgers' clash with the Arizona Diamondbacks, a spectator ran onto the field midway through the ball game.
Initially evading security, he was able to make his way onto the Dodger Stadium field pretty easily.

Looking back at the stands where he'd just come from, the bloke - donning a Mookie Betts jersey - then got down on one knee and unveiled a ring in a box.
Pointing up to his partner, it was clear he was popping the question.
Overall, it seemed like a wholesome moment – although it didn't last long.
In one video posted to social media, as the camera pans back round to the man-in-question, the volume inside the stadium appears to get louder.

Clearly something is happening out-of-shot.
One person then shouts: "Get up!"
But by then, it was too little too late.
The man is then spear-tackled by a security guard, knocking the ring out of his hand as he hits the deck.

Other security guards then piled in, detaining the hopeless romantic on the turf before carting him away from the scene.
Rather hilariously, DMX's hit classic Ruff Ryder's Anthem then starts playing over the PA system.
In other footage posted online, Diamondbacks outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. can be seen with wincing as he watches the collision just yards away.
It remains unknown whether the bloke was detained by police or not.

But perhaps more importantly, it remains unknown whether his girlfriend said yes or not.
