The Kansas City Chiefs have given Travis Kelce a strict deadline for when he must inform them of his intentions amid the potential of him retiring from American football.
Last weekend, the Chiefs took on the Philadelphia Eagles at the Caesars Superdrome in New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX.
Kelce's side were seeking to win their third Super Bowl title in a row following triumphs in their past two seasons, after they had beaten the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 last year and the Eagles 38-35 the campaign before.

However, the Eagles stunned the Chiefs with a 40-22 victory to deny Kansas their third Super Bowl title in succession and secure the Philadelphia side's second crown.
Kelce - who has dated pop star Taylor Swift since 2023 - is contracted to the Chiefs for the 2025 season.
The 35-year-old has won the Super Bowl on three previous occasions with the Chiefs, but has raised questions about if he will continue to play in the NFL on the back of the shock loss to the Eagles.

Kelce is taking his time before deciding whether to retire or not from American football and has insisted he will not be rushed into making 'any crazy decisions'.

Speaking on the New Heights podcast following the defeat, Kelce said: "I know everybody wants to know whether I'm playing next year and, right now, I'm just kicking everything down the road.
"I'm kicking every can I can down the road. I'm not making any crazy decisions.

"I've been fortunate over the past five, six years I've played more football than anybody.
"The fact that we keep going to these AFC championships and these Super Bowls, that means I'm playing an extra three games more than everybody else in the entire league. That's a lot of wear and tear on your body."
He continued: "I think I owe it to my team-mates that if I do come back, it's going to be a whole-hearted decision. Not half-assing it.
"I'm fully here for them and I think I could play. It's just whether or not I'm motivated or it's the best decision for me as a man, as a human and as a person to take on all of that responsibility."

Now, reports have suggested that the Chiefs have set a deadline of March 14 for Kelce to inform them of his decision and whether he intends to retire or not, which is around a month away.
It is reported that Kelce is due a bonus of $11.5m on March 15, so it might explain why a deadline of a day prior to this has been given so the Chiefs might be able to avoid paying such an amount to the tight end if he does choose to hang up his cleats.
