Paddy Pimblett explains why he eats ice cream to refuel following gruelling UFC 314 weight cut

Paddy Pimblett refuelled by eating ice cream after making weight for his UFC 314 fight against Michael Chandler.

Paddy Pimblett has explained why he eats ice cream as part of his refuel following his gruelling weight cut for UFC 314.

Pimblett returns to action at UFC 314 when he faces Michael Chandler in a five-round co-main event.

It's his first fight since his dominant victory over King Green at UFC 304 in Manchester last July.

'The Baddy' looks to be in the best shape of his career but concerned fans at the official UFC 314 weigh-ins.

Ahead of stepping foot inside the famed Octagon, Pimblett has uploaded a new video on his YouTube channel, where he documents his brutal weight cut.

After successfully making the lightweight limit, the 30-year-old went through his refuelling process.

He drank plenty of fluids and ate pancakes, among other food.

Pimblett also indulged in a few scoops of ice cream and explained why.

In the video, he says: "Ice cream time. It's got a nice amount of calories in it and it's mainly carbs, what Paul [Reed] wants me to eat. But it's also refreshing. Very refreshing."

So, ice cream is not just refreshing but also a carb-based snack that his strength and conditioning coach wants him to eat.

Pimblett aims to win his seventh UFC fight in a row against Chandler in Miami, Florida.

He's predicting a stoppage victory inside the distance as he set his sights on a future showdown against Charles Oliveira

On the UFC 314 Weight-In Show, Pimblett said: "First or second round knockout or submission over Michael Chandler [on Saturday]. I can’t look past him. That’s the first thing that I’ve got."

He added: "Then I’d love to fight a legend like Charles [Oliveira], to be honest, in Abu Dhabi in October. Everyone says that Charles is the best submission artist the UFC’s ever seen - and by numbers, he is. He’s got more finishes, more submissions than anyone, so I’d love to fight him: Former UFC undisputed champion, two defenses.

"[I] beat Charles Oliveira, prove I’m the best submission artist in the UFC, and then fight for the title in 2026."
