Conor McGregor shares cryptic message on social media in now-deleted post amid UFC 303 uncertainty

Conor McGregor removed his post from social media after uploading an ominous message.

Conor McGregor shared an old video of himself in a cryptic message amid uncertainty surrounding his fight against Michael Chandler at UFC 303.

McGregor vs. Chandler is set to headline UFC 303 in Las Vegas, Nevada, on June 29.

But the welterweight showdown has been thrown into doubt as Ariel Helwani provided a major update on the status of McGregor's return.

A new main-event is reportedly in the works, with fans spotting a clue over the proposed bout to replace McGregor vs. Chandler.

The UFC and Dana White have been silent throughout the situation, with McGregor and Chandler keeping relatively quiet, too, other than a few posts on social media.

And the 'Notorious' seemed to hint at an injury as he shared an old interview of himself talking about movement on his Instagram story.

In the clip, he says: "I think the more resistance you train with, the less movement and the more injury.

"But the less resistance you train with, the more movement and the less injury."

Worryingly, the reel was accompanied with a pensive face emoji and a praying hands emoji.

Judging by the Irishman's post, he appears to be dealing with an injury.

Of course, the 35-year-old hasn't fought since his leg break against Dustin Poirier back in July 2021.

He is due to return to the Octagon later this month, but, according to Helwani, the fight is 'very much in limbo'.

On Wednesday, the combat sports reporter said: "One step further, here we are, Wednesday, 1:15, the positivity that I talked about exactly one week ago today is nowhere to be found. I would say this fight is very much in limbo.

"I would say it’s hanging on and the UFC is working very, very hard right now to figure out a Plan B. The Plan B could be someone stepping in to fight Chandler, the Plan C could be a whole new fight."
