Liverpool legend and Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard has posted a picture on Instagram of him drinking Burgundy with Ron Burgundy.
Gerrard and comedy legend Will Ferrell enjoyed each others’ company at Wally’s Wine and Spirits, a renowned restaurant in Beverly Hills.
You may think this an unlikely alliance but Ferrell is, in fact, a massive football fan. He’s part-owner of Los Angeles Football Club.

LAFC recently confirmed the signing of Italy legend Giorgio Chiellini, who was famously bitten by former Gerrard teammate Luis Suárez in a 2014 World Cup Match.
Ferrell’s interest extends beyond the MLS. He’s a committed Chelsea fan and in 2019 was spotted at a League One game between Tranmere and Portsmouth, a fixture that even the most hardcore English fans would probably be happy to miss.
This A-list Hollywood star was evidently keen to see how the likes of Ronan Curtis and Ben Close got on.

In the 2005 film Kicking and Screaming, Ferrell played the role of Phil Weston, the ultra-competitive kids football coach who encouraged his players to ‘break some clavicles!’.
In reality Ferrell is said to be far more sympathetic when coaching his own kids, on The Graham Norton Show Mark Whalberg compared his tough approach to coaching with Ferrell’s more compassionate outlook.
Gerrard seems to be enjoying his summer break after a testing first season as a Premier League manager.
Gerrard took over in November when Villa were just two points above the drop zone and guided them to safety.

The pair are said to have eaten meatloaf and, after a tough season, I think it’s fair to say Stevie G has earned his glass of Burgundy with this comedy legend.
