Fabrizio Romano has claimed Manchester United could be about to complete the signing of Fenerbahce goalkeeper Altay Bayindir.
On Tuesday it was widely reported that United are conducting medical tests on Bayindir as they consider a move to sign the Fenerbahce goalkeeper.
The Old Trafford club had allegedly been pursuing the shot-stopper for a while, but want to gain clarity on a back problem before deciding on whether to recruit the 25-year-old.

The five-cap Turkey international was spotted having undergone medical tests in Greece, and as per The Athletic, United have the choice to close out a deal worth around €5million (£4.2million) or focus on another of their available options.
Indeed, transfer guru Romano confirmed United’s interest on X, the social media platform previously known as Twitter.
Romano said: “Altay Bayindir returns to Istanbul after medical check with Manchester United in Athens.

“Man United staff today also in Athens for Bayindir’s medical tests. Next steps to follow soon.”
The Italian transfer guru also shared a picture via Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu in Athens where he reportedly underwent his health check.
Romano later claimed that Fenerbahce were closing in on a move for Dinamo Zagreb Dominik Livakovic, which suggests Bayindir's departure to United could be imminent.

Romano said: “Understand Fenerbahçe are closing in on Dominik Livaković transfer as new goalkeeper — it could be completed in 24 hours with player travelling already on Wednesday.
“Altay Bayindir could join Manchester United on €7m deal — up to #MUFC after initial talks.”
Bayindir played 40 games for Fenerbahce last term and has accumulated 146 overall since arriving from Ankaragucu back in 2019. Moreover he has claimed five caps for his country.
His United arrival will also be contingent on Dean Henderson leaving, with Crystal Palace the most likely destination, according to The Athletic.

The 26-year-old, who is returning from an injury, will only be allowed to leave United should the club identify a replacement.
Erik ten Hag wants a three-strong pool of shot-stoppers alongside No.1 Andre Onana and back-up Tom Heaton.
