But after the La Liga giants failed to finalise a deal, Salzburg have secured the deal and Bajcetic will soon travel to Austria to complete his medical.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano later confirmed that the reason that the potential deal from Barcelona fell through was due to Financial Fair Play rules within La Liga.
They 19-year-old will reunite with former Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders who took over as Salzburg manager this summer after leaving the Merseyside club alongside Jurgen Klopp.
Bajcetic has made 22 senior appearances for Liverpool, having enjoyed a breakout season with Liverpool in 2022/23.

But, from March 2023, a series of injuries have held the Spanish youngster back from getting regular minutes for the Reds over the past 18 months.
Bajcetic will join former teammate Bobby Clark who completed a permanent move from Liverpool to Salzburg earlier in the summer.
Clark joined the Austrian club for a fee worth up to £10million, with a 17.5% sell on clause and a match rights agreement also included in the deal.
