Juventus 'plan' stunning summer swap deal with Man Utd that could be perfect for both clubs

The deal could see the Premier League and Serie A clubs help each other out.

Juventus are considering a swap deal for one of their summer signings with Manchester United which would see one of Erik ten Hag's final signings move to the Italian side, according to reports.

United are in the midst of their worst season of the Premier League era and currently sit 13th in the table, marginally closer to the relegation places than they are to the Champions League spots.

The club's poor form saw a change in the dugout as Ten Hag was sacked and was replaced by Ruben Amorim from Sporting in Portugal, though the different management has not seen an upturn in the club's form and a bottom half finish is very much a realistic prospect.

In the January transfer window, United made two acquisitions with the signing of defenders Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven from Lecce and Arsenal respectively.

But the outgoings last month made more headlines with three players departing on loan for the second half of the season.

Marcus Rashford has moved to fellow Premier League side Aston Villa, while Antony headed to La Liga side Real Betis and defender Tyrell Malacia returned to his native Netherlands to join PSV Eindhoven.

Off the pitch, attentions at Old Trafford will now be focused on the summer transfer window and one player who signed for the club last summer could potentially be heading to Juventus in a sensational swap deal.

Joshua Zirkzee moved to United from Bologna last summer for a transfer fee of £36.5m, but the jury is out on him so far in an up and down first campaign at Old Trafford.

Zirkzee has scored five goals in all competitions, including the leveller in last night's 2-1 FA Cup fourth round win over Leicester City.

But the Dutchman suffered a low point when he was booed by some sections of the United support after being substituted after just 33 minutes of the 2-0 loss in December at Old Trafford to Newcastle United.

Since then, he has had a redemption of sorts and netted the winning penalty in the 5-3 shootout victory over Arsenal last month in the FA Cup third round following a 1-1 draw.

But now, according to Tuttosport as cited by Football Italia, Juventus could seek to discuss a swap deal with United for Zirkzee and offer midfielder Douglas Luiz in return.

Midfielder Luiz moved to Juve from Aston Villa in last summer's transfer window for an initial €50m as the Premier League side needed to sell a key player to comply with the top flight's Profit and Sustainability Rules.

Luiz has made 20 appearances for the Bianconeri in all competitions following his switch to Turin but has struggled to make an impact at Thiago Motta's side, who are currently 11 points behind Serie A leaders Napoli.
