Manchester United are set to sign a promising 17-year-old winger from Sporting CP.
Ruben Amorim could be set to reunite with one of his players who he managed during his successful spell at Sporting CP.
Amorim, 40, joined United from the Portuguese side in November 2024 and has yet to see any notable players arrive from his former club despite heavy links with a potential move for forward Viktor Gyokeres.

However, it has emerged that he could link up with another of his former players.
According to reports from Portuguese outlet A BOLA, United have ‘agreed’ to sign 17-year-old winger Geovany Quenda with a deal thought to be worth around €60m (£50.2M). If a deal is confirmed, the player will likely remain at Sporting for the rest of the 2024/25 season before he joins the Red Devils squad in the summer.
"I won't be signing [Sporting players] in January, that's what I said," Amorim told reporters in November 2024. "I don't know about the summer.

"The main thing is to hold on until the summer. After that, we'll see, Sporting's players are very good players.
"I don't know. We'll see."
Quenda was handed his first-team debut by Amorim in August 2024, with the winger becoming the youngest player to score for the club netting the third goal in a 4-3 loss to Porto in the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira. He quickly progressed and suited Amorim's 3-4-2-1 formation, which the 40-year-old has employed during his time at United.

This season, he has made 34 competitive appearances for the Portuguese champions, registering two goals and six assists.
Quenda, a Portugal youth international, has received praise from several big names in the footballing world. Portugal national team head coach and former Premier League manager, Roberto Martinez, explained how the 17-year-old has a "spectacular future" with the national team.
"He is magic," said Martinez in September 2024. "He has a spectacular future with the national team."
While Bernardo Silva even conceded that Quenda could "take" his "place" in the national side.

"As for Quenda, he will probably take my place," he said in a press conference in September. "But he is part of the national team, certain players leave, new people come in and generations change.
"It is impressive to see the level Quenda is at at this age.
"I didn't play for Benfica's youth team. It wasn't for the juniors, it was for the youth team. I didn't play for Benfica's youth team. Seeing him at 17 years old representing Sporting and the national team, it is because he deserves it and has the skills to be here.
"If he continues, he will certainly reach greater heights than he is at now."
