His contract situation has alerted Real, who have made him a priority target.
The Spanish giants are also considering other right-back options, including Tottenham's Pedro Porro, Bayer Leverkusen's Jeremie Frimpong and Sevilla's Juanlu.
However, Alexander-Arnold is the club's preferred option, but the transfer is only feasible if he runs down his contract at Anfield.

The Italian reporter also claims that Alexander-Arnold is giving priority to Liverpool but if he doesn't renew, then Real will be waiting in the wings to pounce.
