Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has explained exactly why he stormed out of an interview with a journalist after his side’s Champions League final win over Liverpool.
Liverpool dominated proceedings in a cagey affair at the Stade de France, but Thibaut Courtois was in fine form as he denied both Sadio Mane and Mo Salah spectacularly and a goal from Vinicius Junior in the 59th minute was enough to secure victory for the Spanish giants.
The footage of Kroos walking away from the interview came during the on field interview after the final whistle blew at the Stade de France.

The midfielder was being questioned by a German broadcaster, but the questions from the journalist didn’t go down well with Kroos.
When asked if he was taking the win for granted and whether he was surprised that Madrid were put under pressure by Liverpool. The German player ripped into the journalist before storming off. he said: “You had 90 minutes to think about sensible questions. And then you ask me two s****y questions. That’s crazy.”
“It’s not surprising that you get into trouble against Liverpool. What is that a question? We’re not playing a group game somewhere, we’re playing the Champions League Final.”
He added: “It’s really bad. Really bad, really. First you ask three negative questions. You already know that you come from Germany.”

A few days have gone since the incident happened, and now, Kroos has explained his action whilst speaking to the Einfach mal luppen podcast alongside his brother Felix. He told the podcast that the journalist’s questions left him furious.
Kroos explained: “You can ask: 'How did you watch the game? I wouldn't have said we put them against the wall from the first minute until the 90th minute.”
“I’m the first to say it was a close game and Liverpool probably had some chances. more. But we won the game, like in the last few months. But instead I wanted to hear that we won unfairly. I don't give a s*** in a final, you have to win it.”

“At the time I was just p***** off. I was p***** off at him. Of course we had to go through two or three pressure phases , I also told him that when he asked the question. But that's normal.”
He added: “What do you expect? That we dominate Liverpool during 90 minutes? They're a world-class team. We had to beat them and that's what we did.”
Kroos played the full 90 minutes as he helped Madrid claim a 14th European crown.
