Carrying out his media duties with Sky Sports ahead of the Champions League final this Saturday, Sadio Mané has delivered a snippet of news on his Liverpool future. The Senegalese talisman announced he will update Liverpool fans in regard to his future intentions after Saturday’s climactic event.
The Liverpool winger continues to keep his cards close to his chest, insisting he’s not “saying yes or no” amid speculation suggesting his future could lie away from Anfield. Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have been touted as a potential destination for the 30-year-old if he were to leave Liverpool.
Reports suggest £42 million will be enough to pry the 30-year-old away from the Reds this Summer. The former Southampton man signed a bumper new deal with Jurgen Klopp’s side just a year ago so it is unclear whether Liverpool will actively look to sell a man who has been crucial for them this season in spite of a dip in form during the 2020/21 campaign.

Of course, Liverpool boast serious quality in depth in attacking areas so offloading an ageing Mané could be an attractive proposition. In Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah, and Luis Diaz, the Reds have three versatile forwards who could go some way to filling the void Sadio Mané would inevitably leave if he were to depart.
The Champions League finalists have also recently added talented young attacker Fabio Carvalho to their ranks after his move from Fulham. Mané’s departure could leave room for him and the promising Harvey Elliott to fulfil their vivid promise next season.
That said, Liverpool will likely be eager to keep hold of a man who has contributed so much to Jurgen Klopp’s project in Merseyside. It would appear the decision lies in the hands of the player in this case.
