Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas has slammed Paris Saint Germain over an offer made for attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki.
It is no secret that PSG are always looking around in order to snap up some of football’s biggest talents before their rivals.
During the January transfer window, it has been reported that the Parc des Princes club are interested in Lyon’s 19-year-old star Cherki.

However, it looks like negotiations have been abruptly halted after their offer angered Lyon’s club president.
Aulas said to RMC Sport: “I had a long time with Nasser (al-Khelaifi), who called me on Saturday evening, to find out whether or not we were in negotiations for Rayan Cherki. I told him no, and Nasser told me, ‘okay, it's over’, and he added that PSG would therefore not make a new offer.
“I thank him for this direct and sincere contact. We did not enter into negotiations, but the level of the offer was insulting.”

Cherki is one of France’s most talented prospects having represented the U21 side at the international level.
Lyon snapped up Cherki from Saint-Priest back in 2010 and developed him in their academy.
In 2020, Cherki made his senior team debut and since then he has made a total of 82 appearances across all competitions, scoring 10 goals.

According to Get French Football News, Lyon manager Laurent Blanc previously hinted that Cherki will remain at the club.
He said: “I don’t like losing players that I want to keep. Have I received guarantees on these two? Yes. My executives told me they will end the season with OL”
Lyon are currently ninth in the Ligue 1 table after their recent 2-0 victory over AC Ajaccio, Johann Lepenant and former Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette were the scorers.
Next up for Lyon will be their Ligue 1 clash against Brest on Wednesday night.
