Manchester United and Arsenal could have the chance to sign Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio this summer, following Carlo Ancelotti's recent comments.
Asensio is out of contract this summer, but negotiations over an extension have proved difficult, with the Spaniard's wage demands said to be one factor, according to Spanish news outlet MARCA.
The report also states that Asensio is keen to understand his role within the team, favouring regular first team football above all else.

Meanwhile, Arsenal and Manchester United will be placed on red alert, ready to pounce should talks fall through.
The 27-year-old did score in his side's 4-0 win over Elche on Wednesday, but hasn't been a permanent feature of Ancelotti's side this season.
Ancelotti: "I don't care much"
Los Blancos coach Ancelotti has now given Asensio the green light to leave the club, stating he "doesn't care" whether he stays or not.

"He looks good to me," Ancelotti said. "So I don't know if he stays or not. Maybe he does, maybe he doesn't. I don't care much.
"We have some important challenges this season. The most important thing is that he contributes like last year.
"Let him continue as he is doing now. Then the club makes the most appropriate decision in the end."
Man Utd and Arsenal rumoured with Asensio
Asensio was linked to the Red Devils early in the January transfer window, with Erik ten Hag seeking a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.

According to Defensa Central, the United boss turned his attentions to Asensio after Cody Gakpo's move to Liverpool.
However, this was before they signed Wout Weghorst on loan, who was meant to provide short-term cover for Ronaldo, with Ten Hag reportedly eyeing up a summer move for a permanent striker.
Asensio was also rumoured with a move to North London last month, after it emerged that Real would be open to offers.
Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo claimed that Real could sell Asensio this January, along with a whole host of other fringe players.

The report also mentioned that the Gunners were waiting in the wings, and ready to make an offer should the opportunity arise.
