Liverpool are in the market for midfield reinforcements this January transfer window, and one of their targets looks to be a real possibility after his club responded positively to the Reds' interest.
News has broken recently of Liverpool's desire to sign Netherlands World Cup star Teun Koopmeiners, with Jurgen Klopp thought to be a big fan of the 24-year-old.
Atalanta have now responded to questions regarding Premier League interest. The club's sporting director Tony D’Amico told Sky Italia: “There’s nothing concrete with Liverpool: we welcome the interest, but he’s one of our players.”

The news will come as a boost to Liverpool fans after the Italian side's manager Gian Piero Gasperini appeared resistant to letting him go, stating: "Koopmeiners won't move in January,” per Italian news outlet Tutto Atalanta.
However, other sources report that Atalanta have no intention of parting ways with the Dutchman this January unless they are made an incredible offer, claim Corriere della Sera.
Koopmeiners flattered by Liverpool interest
Koopmeiners himself, has also responded to the rumours, stating that it was "nice" to see.

England's World Cup superstar Jude Bellingham is thought to remain Liverpool's priority this transfer window, with the club said to be the favourites for his signature.
Anfield was previously tipped to be the top choice of Bellingham's father, according to GiveMeSport. The report indicates Liverpool's need to consider all parties when persuading Bellingham. Journalist Ben Jacobs explained: "The wooing of Jude Bellingham [by Liverpool] isn't only on football terms. It's about convincing his family, and that's where Liverpool have put in the most work."
The club are also reported to be keeping tabs on Brighton's Moises Caicedo, after his price tag was cut by £20million.
