Tottenham’s move for Middlesbrough full-back Djed Spence is in ‘advanced negotiations’, which could push Nottingham Forest to negotiate for Liverpool’s Neco Williams.
Spence spent last season on loan with Steve Cooper’s side, helping them to promotion from the Championship.
His move to Tottenham would categorically end any faint hopes Nottingham Forest had of bringing Spence back on board.

However, per the Liverpool Echo, a move for the Reds’ Welsh full-back could quickly accelerate.
Liverpool have let it be known Williams is available for £15m this summer.
He had been linked with Southampton as well as a move to PSV Eindhoven, Aston Villa, Leeds or Fulham.
However, the Echo believe Williams could be ‘the next player out of the door’ at Anfield and are looking his likeliest suitor at present.

He spent last season on loan with the Cottagers, and like Spence helped his side to promotion - yet Williams is looking to leave the Reds after several years of deputising for Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Williams spoke about his desire to play regular football to the Echo in April.
“Right now, I just want to play football week in and week out,” Williams said.
“I want to play as much as possible and gain as much experience as possible, and so far it has definitely helped me.

“I’ve improved as a player and getting promoted is a nice one to put on the CV."
It’s been a great loan, but I’ll be going back to Liverpool in the summer, feeling like a more mature player and definitely an improved player.
"I have gained a lot of experience in a short amount of time. I've gone from starting a Champions League game against AC Milan and beating them 2-1 to playing Barnsley."
"So I have gained quite a lot of valuable and varied experience at such a young age."

“I want to be a Premier League player. For me, I think it's the best and the toughest league in the world. And you always want to be playing against the best players in the world, you always want to play in the best league in the world.”
Nottingham Forest have had one bid rejected, but will look to secure his signature as soon as possible.
