Anderlecht captain Jan Vertonghen was mic’d up during the match against Antwerp as the defender showed his leadership qualities.
The Belgian international has built up a good reputation after impressing in the Premier League whilst he was a Tottenham Hotspur player.
Vertonghen played over 300 games for the North London club and has also captained Spurs on multiple occasions.

Now, as the Anderlecht and Belgium national team captain, he had the perfect opportunity to showcase his leadership skills when he was mic’d up for his side’s clash against Antwerp. You can watch the footage below.
As shown in the video, Vertonghen was constantly shouting and screaming instructions towards his teammates in order to make sure they are doing their jobs.
The former Spurs defender was also heard speaking three different languages as he looked to motivate his team from start to finish.

Prior to kick-off, Vertonghen shared a joke with Antwerp captain Toby Alderwireld, whom he played with at Spurs and for Belgium.
Vertonghen said: “Ready boy? Warrior.”
The match ended in a stalemate 0-0 draw with both teams finishing the match with 10 men after red cards were shown to Calvin Stengs and Benito Raman.
Prior to joining Anderlecht, Vertonghen was playing for Portuguese side Benfica.

The central defender previously spoke about his sadness when leaving Portugal.
He said: “In 24 hours I went from staying at Benfica to signing for Anderlecht.
“Things that for other people take months, for me came in 24 hours. Contracts, medical exams, the move… I never thought about leaving Benfica. Never.”

Vertonghen added: “On the morning of August 31st, my manager called me about Anderlecht's offer and I declined. I was on my way to training at Benfica and I was supposed to call him in the afternoon.
“Then I spoke to the coach and everything changed. I was on the pitch with tears in my eyes, I wanted to stay in Lisbon and I saw all my stability crumbling.”
