Wrexham were handed their third defeat of their League One campaign against promotion rivals Stockport – and they are already looking to improve the squad amid an injury crisis.
Aston Villa loanee Louis Barry scored the game's only goal at Stockport’s Edgeley Park. Even Cole Palmer was in the stands as he enjoyed some downtime during the international break.
The Red Dragons currently sit third in the division and aim to secure a third consecutive promotion this term.

Given the popularity of the club since Ryan Reynolds and Robert McElhenney took ownership of the North Wales outfit in February 2021, they have set their sights on getting to the summit of the footballing pyramid - having already progressed from the National League to League One under manager Phil Parkinson’s guidance.
Despite their respectable league position, reports suggest the club will look to recruit a striker with ‘championship experience’ to bolster their promotion pursuit.
According to the Sun, ‘big wages’ and a ‘big fee’ could be on offer for the right signing.

Current strikers Paul Mullin and Steven Fletcher have netted just two goals between them in the league so far this campaign, but summer signing Jack Marriott has registered five goals in his ten appearances.
However, Marriott and Fletcher are currently nursing injuries, with the former Fleetwood man breaking his fibula during a training session in October – he is expected to be out for at least four months.
"I'm thinking four months minimum,” Parkinson explained in late October.

“It's a serious injury. It's a difficult moment for him to get such a serious injury in such an innocuous circumstance.
"He had started the season really well, but hopefully he can come back and contribute before the season finishes."
The club have recently recruited Jón Dadi Bödvarsson, who was handed his first league start in yesterday’s game.
The 32-year-old is a former Iceland international boasting 64 caps for his country – he even played during their victory over England at Euro 2016.

Bödvarsson brings experience to the squad, having played for Bolton, Reading, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Millwall, as well as stints at several clubs across Europe.
