A Wrexham player has hinted that he may sign a new contract at the club as they near promotion to the Championship.
Wrexham’s 3-0 win against Burton Albion at the Racecourse on Saturday allowed them to begin dreaming of a third consecutive promotion, which would see them compete in the Championship next season (English football’s second tier).
The Red Dragons currently sit second in League 1, six points ahead of third-place Wycombe Wanderers – although the Buckinghamshire club have played a game less.
The top two teams – currently Birmingham City and Wrexham – will be promoted to the Championship.

If this happens, the Welsh club will likely have to bolster the quality and depth of Phil Parkinson’s squad despite already boasting ex-Premier League players such as Steven Fletcher, James McClean and Jay Rodriguez.
And it was Fletcher, 38, who has teased the prospect of a new contract at Wrexham.
After yesterday’s victory, during which Fletcher scored while co-chairman Ryan Reynolds was in attendance, Fletcher made an ominous comment on an Instagram post.
A Wrexham fan account commented: “New contract…?,” in response to photographs uploaded by the former Scotland international to which Fletcher simply replied with an ‘eyes’ emoji.

“I thought it was just going to be nine months and I'd be back home retired and with my feet on the sofa watching football,” Fletcher said in the club’s matchday programme.
Instead, he has been at the heart of Wrexham’s promotion push, registering eight goals and one assist in 38 appearances.
And he may not have been playing if it wasn’t for a phone call from Reynolds.
At the end of the 2023/24 campaign, Fletcher was contemplating retiring after being relegated with Dundee United.

"Obviously when Ryan called me it did help, I'm not going to lie," Fletcher told BBC Sport in January.
"It's Ryan Reynolds, how could you say no?"
"I had the conversation, it was quite short, to be honest with you,” he added. “It was just 'we'd love to have you here and be a part of the club'.
"I had already made up my mind, to be honest, but it did give me a little confidence boost to say 'yeah, go on then'."
