Wrexham are lining up a move for a Wales international, according to a fresh report.
Phil Parkinson's Wrexham are back in League One for the first time since the 2004-05 season, after finishing runners-up in the fourth tier last term.
Keen to add to their squad in the off-season, Portsmouth-based local paper The News has claimed the Welsh outfit, who are bankrolled by Hollywood duo Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, are targetting Joe Morrell.

Morrell is available on a free transfer having opted not to take up the option to extend his deal at Portsmouth for another 12 months. However, the Championship new boys are allegedly in talks with Morrell over extending his stay on the south coast.
Recruited from Luton back in August 2021, the midfielder has wracked up 105 appearances for Portsmouth, netting one goal and captaining them on several occasions.
Morrell, who was initially an integral part of Portsmouth’s League One title-winning side, suffered a season-ending knee injury at Oxford in January.

He subsequently underwent surgery and is continuing his rehab at the Portsmouth training ground, all set to return to action during pre-season.
By thus far declining the opportunity to activate the clause to extend his Fratton Park stay Morrell is free to talk to other interested parties this summer.
Naturally, Morrell’s availability is said to have alerted Wrexham, who will be keen to make a good start to their League One campaign after securing promotions in successive seasons.

The midfielder has represented Wales on 37 occasions, last playing for them in September 2023 against South Korea.
