Manchester United are reportedly eyeing up a £58.6m move for a French international forward in a bid to improve their goalscoring options.
Over the summer, United spent almost £180m on new incomings, with Matthijs de Ligt, Manuel Ugarte, Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro and Noussair Mazraoui all arriving at Old Trafford.
However, despite some flashes of promise in their opening seven league games, none of the signings have drastically improved Erik ten Hag’s side’s fortunes as they sit on their lowest-ever points tally at this stage of a Premier League season.

Ten Hag’s future has been the subject of speculation, but he is set to remain at the club for now following a meeting between club chiefs earlier this week.
It is unclear if the Dutch manager will still be in charge by next summer given the intense scrutiny over his position, but a new report claims United are set to bolster their squad regardless.
A huge problem for United so far this season has been their lack of goal threat, with only Southampton scoring fewer goals so far in 2024/25.

Zirkzee was supposed to solve this problem but has so far scored just one goal - on his debut against Fulham on the opening night of the season back in August.
Rasmus Hojlund joined from Atalanta last summer but has never truly convinced the Old Trafford faithful.
The Dane scored 10 goals in 30 Premier appearances last season.
Hojlund and Zirkzee have a combined tally of two goals in 15 appearances so far this term which represents a poor return given their combined price was over £108 million.

In a bid to fix the lack of goals, United are considering a move for PSG forward Randal Kolo Muani, according to Fichajes.
It is reported that the Premier League side are lining up a £58.6 million bid for the player next summer.
The Frenchman only joined the Parisians in September last year but has failed to find form under Luis Enrique.

The 25-year-old joined PSG from Eintracht Frankfurt for a fee reported to be around £67 million, but he has failed to justify his hefty price tag with just eight goals in 33 league games.
The forward is under contract in Paris until 2028 but the fact he was subbed at half-time during PSG’s match against Lille last Sunday may give an indication that his future could lie elsewhere.
After last Sunday’s 0-0 draw against Aston Villa, Ten Hag admitted that his side lacked cutting edge in the final third.
"We know we have a lack of goals,” he told Sky Sports.

“In that perspective, it's not a good start. Definitely not. We have to step up. If you want to win games, you have to score. "That's an area where we have to improve.”
