An update on the future of Viktor Gyokores has emerged and it’s surprising, to say the least.
Gyokores, 26, has been on the radar of several top clubs for some time, with the Sweden international impressing at Sporting CP this season, having registered 43 goals and 11 assists in 43 appearances this term.
In January, he was linked with a potential move to Manchester United mainly due to the fact he had worked under Red Devils’ head coach Ruben Amorim during his time in the Portuguese capital.

However, no such deal materialised.
In December, Portugal-based outlet A Bola claimed Gyokeres had a €100m (£83m) release clause in his contract, which would’ve been enough to sign him in the winter market.
The outlet went on to explain how Sporting are ‘open to negotiating a sale next summer’ for a reduced price of €70m (£58m) plus bonuses.

Now an updated price has emerged.
According to reports by The Sun, the Lisbon club are willing to part ways with the 26-year-old for a fee of between £55m and £70m as a show of gratitude for him sticking with them despite interest from bigger clubs in the winter.
Where Gyokeres is playing his football next season remains unclear but reports from the Mail suggest that the player favours a move to Arsenal over Man Utd due to the Gunners being likely to compete in next season’s Champions League.

Arsenal’s summer business will be overseen by their new sporting director Andrea Berta, who joined the club on March 30.
Speaking in a press conference on Tuesday, Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta revealed the club's plans for the upcoming transfer window.
“The way we planned the five first summers, they were going to be very big and they were going to have different objectives because the turnaround of players and the objective of those windows was going to be different,” said Arteta.
“But now when you are going to go again, we want to increase the depth of the squad but as well we want to increase the quality and the skills that we need to go to the next step. It’s going to be a big one and we are very excited about it.”
