Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard shared a wholesome moment with a young fan in Saudi Arabia.
In the summer, Gerrard became one of many big names to move to the Saudi Professional League after agreeing to become Al Ettifaq’s manager.
This is Gerrard’s first job since he was sacked by Premier League side Aston Villa in October 2022.

This week, Gerrard shared a wholesome moment with a young fan who was visiting the club’s facilities. You can watch the footage below.
The young fan, who is called Roman Dean, was visibly emotional as he shared a hug with the former Liverpool captain.
After finding out Roman was over in Saudi Arabia on holiday, Gerrard said: “Well listen, he’s going to take your number right? And what I’m going to do for you, you’re going to come to training and meet Jordan Henderson and Gini(Wijnaldum).

“Unless you want to come and meet them now if you want? You don’t want to meet me, you want to meet the players.”
Later on Al Ettifaq’s social media account, pictures of Roman meeting the likes of Jordan Henderson and Gini Wijnaldum were posted.
Roman’s mother, Michelle, also commented on Al Ettifaq’s post.

She wrote: “This is my son, he’s out there visiting his dad who now lives in Bahrain…absolute dream come true for him. Thank you to everyone that made it happen.”
According to Michelle, Roman dreams of becoming a professional footballer one day and is an avid Liverpool fan.
It has been a decent start to the season so far for Gerrard and Al Ettifaq as they currently sit fourth in the Saudi Professional League table after they collected 16 points from their opening seven matches.
Al Ettifaq will be back in action on Sunday as they take on Jeddah in the King’s Cup.
