Neymar reveals what he told rival fans seconds before scoring super-rare 'Olimpico' goal

The Barcelona and PSG legend was seen mocking fans after scoring a stunning goal following his return to his boyhood club.

Neymar has spoken out yo reveal exactly what he said to rival fans after scoring a stunning goal that not even Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi could recreate.

Last month, Barcelona legend Neymar saw his contract with Al Ahli terminated following a woeful spell at the Saudi Pro League club where he made just seven times after joining as part of a £77.6million deal in August 2023.

The 33-year-old then decided he would return to his boyhood club Santos, where he has been enjoying a much better start with two goals in the first six games of his second spell with the Brazilian club.

But one of these goals stands out from all others across Neymar's storied career, and he's spoken out to reveal exactly what he did after scoring it.

On Sunday, Santos sealed their place in the Paulistao quarter-finals after a goal and two assist from Neymar led them to a dominant 3-0 win over Inter de Limeira.

However, the stand out moment of the game came in the 27th minute when the Brazilian star, despite being booed relentlessly by opposition fans, scored directly from his own corner kick, a rare achievement known as an Olympic goal.

Immediately after scoring his side's second goal of the game, Neymar ran up to the opposition fans and was seen talking to them, and he's now revealed exactly what he said.

"I went to take the corner, they provoked me. I asked to sing more, I took it and gave the assist", he revealed to CazeTV, via ESPN.

"Then, the second time I went there, they said it again, so I thought to myself: 'Now I'm the one who's going to score the goal' (laughs). I hit a great shot and managed to score my first Olympic goal."

Although breaking records seems to be just another day for both Ronaldo and Messi, neither man has actually achieved a rare Olympic goal, further explaining how impressive Neymar's feat on Sunday really is.

He joins the likes of Toni Kroos, Thierry Henry, Ronaldinho, Roberto Carlos and David Beckham as some of the special few to score directly from their own corner kick.
