Mats Hummels has had fans in disbelief after spotting his choice of football shirt while on holiday.
The 35-year-old is a free agent after leaving Borussia Dortmund following the Champions League final loss to Real Madrid at Wembley.
A number of Premier League clubs were linked with Hummels, while Real were also said to be exploring him as a short-term option amid a centre-back crisis.

Bologna, who have qualified for the Champions League next season, are also well in the race to bring in Hummels on a free transfer.
But he has no agreement with any club just yet and has been enjoying his time off.
On Thursday, Hummels shared a picture of him on a football pitch.

And the shirt he was wearing for the kickabout has caused quite a stir. Hummels was wearing an old Liverpool away shirt, with Virgil van Dijk's name and number on the back.
The top is from the 2018/19 season when Hummels, playing for Bayern Munich, came up against Van Dijk and Liverpool at the Allianz Arena.
The Dutchman scored Liverpool's second goal in a 3-1 win and appeared to swap shirts with his fellow central defender.

Hummels clearly holds the jersey in high esteem and took to Instagram to give props to Van Dijk.
He wrote: "One of the best CB’s ever…wearing a @virgilvandijk jersey sorry for that gag... you are a beast."
Hummels' comment section was flooded with replies, with one writing: "Real recognise real."
Another said: "No gag, just real talk."

A third added: "The best CB wearing the best CB shirt."
Another commented: "You are the best too Mats."
This is the second instance Hummels has been spotted rocking an unexpected shirt this summer.

After being snubbed by Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann for the Euro 2024 home soil, he was seen training wearing a Greece shirt from Euro 2012.
He captioned the post: "It's difficult to find a jersey for sports that doesn't cause any stupid rumours afterwards."
