New Manchester United signing Rasmus Hojlund is set to miss the first few weeks of the season due to injury, it has been claimed.
United confirmed the signing of Hojlund earlier today in a deal worth a reported £72 million, with the Dane putting pen to paper on a five-year deal with the option of a further year. He was then unveiled at Old Trafford ahead of United's pre-season friendly against Lens.
Speaking for the first time as a United player, Hojlund said: "I am incredibly excited by this opportunity to turn that dream into a reality, and I am determined to repay the faith that the club has shown in me.

"It is still early in my career, but I know that I am ready to make this step up and play with this group of world-class players."
However, in a significant blow for Erik Ten Hag, the 20-year-old could miss the first few weeks of the season due to injury.
That's according to the Manchester Evening News, who claim that he "sustained a small issue during pre-season training with Atalanta and he is not ready to play."

The report adds: "United believe it could take a few weeks for Hojlund to reach match fitness and he will not be rushed in his recovery."
United get their season underway against Wolves on August 14, before travelling to Tottenham five days later. But it would seem the Red Devils will have to rely on Marcus Rashford to provide the goals instead.
Speaking to United's website earlier on Saturday, Hojlund insisted that United would be the perfect place for his development.
"Once I had spoken to the manager, I knew that this environment would be perfect for my development; I am relishing the opportunity to work with one of the best coaches in the world," he said.

"Under his guidance and support I know that I am capable of achieving great things together with my new teammates at this special club."
