Mason Greenwood has sent a message to Getafe supporters upon the completion of his season-long loan at the Spanish club.
There has been much speculation surrounding Greenwood’s immediate future, amid months of links to clubs in Italy and Spain as well as reports the one-cap England international could remain at Old Trafford next term.
Greenwood has not played for United since his arrest in January 2022 for attempted rape, controlling behaviour and assault. All charges against the 22-year-old were dropped with the player having always vehemently denied the accusations.

The forward is widely reported to have attracted interest from Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Juventus, while two clubs in the Premier League are also said to be keen.
Getafe, where Greenwood has been on loan for the season, were also interested in retaining the player’s services.
However, Greenwood appears to have quashed and chances of remaining at the La Liga outfit beyond the summer, having issued a ‘goodbye’ message to the club and its supporters on Instagram.

He said: “Incredibly grateful to the Getafe family and fans for an amazing season, Thank you for making me feel welcomed and one of your own. I enjoyed every second, alongside my teammates and club
“A bittersweet ending, but it was a pleasure to play for you, I wish you all the best.”
Greenwood made 36 appearances for Getafe, netting ten goals. His last game for the club came in a 2-1 defeat to Mallorca.

Getafe president Angel Torres has publicly insisted on several occasions he wants Greenwood to remain at the club.
Torres said: "Regarding Manchester United, the news that we have from last week, where the sporting director went to England to see some games and was with them, is that, if a good offer comes along, they would want to sell because he is not going to go back there.
"We'll have to wait until the end of June. The people and the coach are very happy with him.
"I think he will remain with us for another season, or at least until January. He is a good footballer."
