The date Mason Greenwood will return to Manchester United has been revealed.
Greenwood has not played for United since January 2022, when he was arrested for attempted rape, controlling behaviour and assault. All charges against the one-cap England international were dropped, with the player having always vehemently denied the accusation.
However, Greenwood mutually agreed to part ways with United last August upon the completion of an internal investigation into his conduct with the forward subsequently going on loan to La Liga side Getafe.

There, he scored 10 goals and registered six assists. Indeed, his performances are widely reported to have attracted interest from Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Napoli and Juventus.
Greenwood appeared to confirm that Sunday’s 2-1 defeat to Mallorca would be his final game for Getafe, saying in a statement on Instagram: “Incredibly grateful to the Getafe family and fans for an amazing season, thank you for making me feel welcomed and one of your own. I enjoyed every second, alongside my teammates and club.
“A bittersweet ending, but it was a pleasure to play for you, I wish you all the best.”

However, the 22-year-old’s future remains uncertain, with the Athletic claiming all options are on the table.
United’s preference is allegedly to secure a permanent sale, but the club is also willing to loan him out again should they struggle to find a buyer.
The publication added that United are planning to work through the potential options with Greenwood’s family in the coming weeks, but should they fail to secure a move by June 30 a return to training at Carrington could be on the cards.

Though it is uncertain if he will rejoin the first-team set-up, United are reportedly contractually unable to prevent Greenwood’s return that day.
Getafe president Angel Torres has publicly insisted he wants Greenwood to remain at the club.
Torres said: "Regarding Manchester United, the news that we have from last week, where the sporting director went to England to see some games and was with them, is that, if a good offer comes along, they would want to sell because he is not going to go back there.
"We'll have to wait until the end of June. The people and the coach are very happy with him.

"I think he will remain with us for another season, or at least until January. He is a good footballer."
