Liverpool have been told that there could be a chance that Trent Alexander-Arnold will remain at Anfield.
As things stand, Alexander-Arnold is set to walk away from Liverpool for free this summer upon the expiration of his contract.
The 26-year-old has been widely linked with a move to Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid, with many outlets claiming the deal is inching ever closer to completion.
However, speaking on BBC's Football Focus, former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock has stated that Alexander-Arnold could still make a stunning U-turn, on one condition.
Could Trent Alexander-Arnold snub Real Madrid and stay at Liverpool?
As reported by The Mirror, Warnock said: "I still think there's an opportunity where he could stay. I think there's still that element where he's almost going, 'If you want me, you're going to have to pay for me'.

"Because if you think of Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah, their salaries are astronomical at the moment. Because Trent is a local lad, he won't be on the type of money that they are on and he will be thinking, 'Pay me what they're getting paid'."
He added: "And it might be a case of just closing that gap and (they are) able to make that happen. But the other side of it is, what Liverpool fans are getting very frustrated by, is that he's potentially going to leave on a free transfer.
"This is a player that you got on a free transfer (from the club's academy) who you haven't paid a penny for and has given you eight incredible years at the club."

Earlier in the week, Sky Sports journalist Melissa Reddy claimed that Liverpool and Real - have 'shown surprise' at stories that have emerged this week, with no major developments in the saga since January.
Reddy writes that 'no deal has been signed, nor has a conclusion been communicated to either club'.
