Kylian Mbappe has made an admission about LeBron James that could hand Liverpool a transfer boost.
As has been the case in recent transfer windows, the future of the PSG striker is the subject of intense speculation.
Last summer Mbappe looked certain to leave the French giants when he refused to sign a new contract. The 25-year-old was excluded from the club's pre-season tour of Asia, but manager Luis Enrique brought him back into the fold in time for the start of the season after the striker held positive talks with the club.

However, with just six months remaining on the contract Mbappe signed in 2021, the World Cup winner's future is still unresolved.
Real Madrid are expected to move heaven and earth to convince the Frenchman to swap the Parc des Princes for the Bernabeu in the summer, with Liverpool retaining an outside chance of landing the superstar.
PSG are reportedly attempting to re-sign Mbappe to a contract worth £86.15 million per season, while Real Madrid will come up with their own luvcrative offer. Liverpool will struggle to match either, but they appear to have a secret weapon.

Mbappe is good friends with legendary basketball player LeBron James, who is an investor in Fenway Sports Group, the American sports company that owns Liverpool. The duo have grown closer since they both signed with Nike, Liverpool's kit manufacturer.
Now, in an interview with GQ magazine, Mbappe has opened up on his relationship with the NBA star, admitting that LeBron has and still does have a major influence over his career decisions.
"He has a much more advanced career than I do, and projects outside sport that have cemented his place as a legend," Mbappe said.

"Being able to ask such inspiring personalities for advice is a chance to adjust my projects and create my own thing that is as effective as possible for today's young people.
"These projects grow with me and make me particularly proud. It's important for me to convey values like dialogue and sharing by surrounding myself with partners who support but above all understand and validate my societal commitment."
A transfer to Liverpool would massively increase LeBron's share price in the club, but for the moment the links remain nothing more than speculation.
