Darwin Nunez shocks Liverpool fans with dramatic new look ahead of Everton clash

Darwin Nunez stunned Liverpool fans with his new look.

Darwin Nunez has stunned Liverpool fans with a dramatic new look ahead of the Merseyside derby.

Nunez has been away with Uruguay for this month's international break, with his national team playing two World Cup qualifiers.

Uruguay suffered a bruising 1-0 defeat to Argentina before playing out a goalless draw against Bolivia.

Nunez started his country's game against Argentina and was a second-half substitute in Bolivia.

Despite picking up just one point in their two World Cup qualifiers, Uruguay remain in a strong position to book their spot at the 2026 World Cup, which takes place in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

With the 25-year-old's international commitments wrapped up, he'll head back to Liverpool to resume his side's stunning Premier League campaign.

Liverpool, who have lost back-to-back games to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League and Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup final, return to action against cross-town rivals Everton on April 2.

And ahead of potentially turning out for his club team, Nunez has shown off a new hairstyle, which has shocked Liverpool fans.

Nunez took to social media to show off his cornrows and it got people talking on social media.

One X user wrote: "Preparing for the Premier League pictures that will hit haters hard."

A second joked: "More trims than goals."

A third added: "Let him cook."

Nunez has come under criticism for his wastefulness in front of goal this season and has been linked with a stunning move away from Anfield this summer.

He has scored just seven goals across all competitions, having bagged 18 goals last season.

But the forward has delivered on occasions this season. He scored a stoppage time brace to hand Liverpool a big win over Brentford in January.

However, against Aston Villa, which ended 2-2, Nunez was guilty of fluffing a huge chance.

"I can accept every miss, especially from a player that scored two very important goals against Brentford," said Arne Slot.

"What was a bit harder for me to accept was his behaviour after that chance. I think it got too much in his head and he wasn't the usual Darwin that works his ass off and helps the team. I think he was too disappointed."
