Arne Slot may have finally found a solution to Liverpool's midfield problem after missing out on Martin Zubimendi in the transfer window.
Liverpool have started the season almost perfectly, winning six of their seven matches in all competitions and conceding only three goals.
Despite this, it is fair to say they still look light in midfield having missed out on a deal to bring Real Sociedad midfielder Zubimendi to the club over the summer.

But now, manager Slot may have found the perfect player to fit into his new system and help push Liverpool towards their first trophy under their new manager.
According to reliable German journalist Christian Falk, Liverpool are considering a move for FC Freiburg's Merlin Rohl.
The Reds are said to have been impressed by the German midfielder after scouts have been to watch him play live.

Freiburg rate their player highly and have offered the 22-year-old a new contract to try and fend off any interest from the Merseyside club.
Although Rohl accepted the new deal, it does not rule out the potential of a move to Anfield in the near future.
“I trust in the environment here in Freiburg and am extremely grateful for everyone that I work with on a daily basis here — they have played a large part in my development over the last two years,” said Rohl after his contract extension was announced.
“My goal is to reach my full potential. The surroundings at SC are therefore ideal.”

One stumbling block that Liverpool would face for a potential move for Rohl is that he is currently dealing with a Syndesmosis ligament tear which will rule him out in the short to medium term.
In total, the midfielder has made 40 appearances for Freiburg, scoring three goals and assisting five.
“Merlin has undergone a positive development at the highest level, just as we had all hoped he would. He has been able to demonstrate his qualities as a footballer and his intelligence as a player in various positions and is an important part of our team,” said Freiburg board member for sport Jochen Saier.
