Jose Mourinho holds 'face-to-face talks' with European giants as return to management nears

A shock new club has entered the frame.

Jose Mourinho could have found his next club as he has held positive talks with European giants as 'negotiations continue'.

Following his dismissal from AS Roma in January, Mourinho, aged 61, has been without a club.

Mourinho has been linked to the Saudi Pro League, and even with potential returns to Stamford Bridge and Old Trafford, although these possibilities seem remote at present.

Speaking in the media since his sacking, Mourinho has made it very clear he wants to return to management sooner rather than later.

"I’m not in a rest, I want to work,” he told beIN SPORTS.

“I want to work but I just don’t want to have the wrong decision. I have to wait for the right one, the one that motivates me.

“But if I could work tomorrow I would work tomorrow," Jose continued.

According to a report from AS, there is a shock new club who have taken the lead in the race for Mourinho's services as Turkish side Fenerbahce look to land the Portuguese maestro.

The report states: "José Mourinho can start a new adventure in his career this summer. The former coach of Real Madrid, Chelsea, Inter and Roma, among others, is in Fenerbahçe's sights."

It also appears Mourinho is open to the move to Turkey and has even held talks face-to-face with the club's former President.

"Former president Aziz Yıldırım revealed that he spoke face to face with José Mourinho for two hours last week, and his assistants are negotiating with the representatives of the Portuguese coach," The report continued.

"Yıldırım said that Mourinho welcomes the proposal if he is elected president. Yıldırım recommended to Ali Koç, president and candidate, that whoever wins they had to hire Mourinho. The Portuguese watched the match between Fenerbahçe against Konyaspor."

Fenerbahçe currently sit second in the Super Lig to Galatasaray who will break the 100-point mark if they avoid defeat to their fierce rivals at the weekend.
