Jenas, 41, has worked with several broadcasters including the BBC, TNT Sports, Channel 4 since retiring from professional football in 2016, and was touted to be Gary Lineker's long-term successor as Match of the Day host.
Jenas presented a one-off drive-time show on national radio station talkSport just 20 minutes after the news of his BBC sacking broke on Thursday afternoon.
TalkSPORT said that it agreed with Jenas for the show to go-ahead.

"Given the array of serious allegations being reported as the story continues to evolve, it's for Jermaine as a private individual to address them in the way he chooses," a statement from talkSPORT read.
"There are no plans for Jermaine to broadcast as a presenter on talkSPORT in the immediate future."
After his show, Jenas remained on air to conduct an remarkable interview about his dismissal by the BBC.
The former England international argued that there are "two sides to every story", but that he would step back as he'd let his "lawyers deal with it."

"This is... Yeah, it's tough, you know. But I've got to listen to my lawyers."
Jenas did not comment when asked if the allegations against him were made by more than one colleague, or when asked to clarify when he was first made aware of the complaints.
He did not confirm or deny if legal proceedings had begun, and did not say if he felt apologetic to anyone at the BBC.
